Job Summary

The primary role of the Grizzly Orientation Leader (OL) is to provide professional, peer-to-peer guidance to incoming students and their families, while showcasing exceptional school spirit. OLs help ensure guests feel confident, connected, and excited to join the Grizzly family! All Orientation Leaders are required to fully attend, participate in, and work during all scheduled training sessions, set up days, and Grizzly Orientation events during the following peak seasons:
November-January and April-August.
* A few trainings and retreats may be scheduled weeks prior but will be communicated well in advance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and assist with small group discussions, icebreakers, campus tours, and sessions.
  • Serve as a welcoming, knowledgeable, and approachable resource positively answering questions and providing guidance about academics, campus involvement, and student services.
  • Represent the college with enthusiasm, inclusivity, and pride by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports student engagement and peer-to-peer connection.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with fellow Orientation Leaders, New Student Connections staff, and campus partners.
  • Stay informed about current college services, offices, events, and support programs.
  • Follow campus policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with long days and unexpected changes while embracing active workdays filled with walking, outdoor tasks, and hands‑on responsibilities (e.g., set up, breakdown, transport materials).
  • Drive GGC golf carts to transport supplies and quickly report to various locations.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
