Responsibilities- Communicates with internal customers to resolve quality-related issues.
- Leads investigation and corrective actions for quality issues, collaborating with programmers and operators during production.
- Ensures proper measuring equipment is available and calibrated for production.
- Documents critical features of first articles and communicates procedures to operators.
- Re-trains operators as needed on measuring and inspection procedures.
- Records quality incidents and corrective actions, revising standard processes accordingly.
- Oversees measurement equipment, including calibration and operator training.
- Conducts first article and random inspections, ensuring ongoing compliance and training.
- Identifies critical features for inspections and trains operators on inspection procedures.
- Supports manufacturing with quality inspection best practices and documentation.
- Maintains documentation related to equipment, training, inspections, and quality processes.
- Aligns procedures with ISO
9001 standards and WIKA standards. - Suggests improvements for quality processes and equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years' experience in a machine shop environment.
- Technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and measurement tools.
- Experience with measurement equipment like calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and mechanical skills.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings; GD&T knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and lean methodologies is advantageous.
