OverviewUnder the general direction of the Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager this position is responsible for supporting various maintenance functions including but not limited to: troubleshooting running equipment, modifications to existing equipment, preventative and predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. The position will require flexible hours at the weekends. Must be able to work overtime.
Responsibilities- Strong, relentless and consistent focus on safety
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment
- Handle basic repairs and maintenance of equipment throughout the facility
- Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary
- Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
- Communicate and take direction from technical support
- Maintain focus while working independently
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
- Proven maintenance experience with pneumatic, electrical and some hydraulic systems
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to disassemble machines to replace defective parts
- Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, parts breakdowns and drawings
- Use of calipers, tape measures, multimeter, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches
- Forklift, man lift and associated safety equipment experience required
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
- CNC equipment experience preferred
- Software/program loading experience preferred
- Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
- Strong organizational, follow up, and communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong time management and ability to maintain an active work list and timely completion of work
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Ability to read simple instructions and short memos
- Regular attendance and timeliness are essential to avoid production disruptions
- Follow all operational and safety SOPs as written
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance service in a production environment
- Electrical experience in 480/230/120
VAC 3-phase systems, DC control circuits, troubleshooting circuits, motor starters, lighting, and control wiring - Familiar with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi PLCs
- Pneumatic understanding of manufacturing machinery
- Experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses
- Welding (MIG/TIG and stick) experience preferred
- Proper use of torch rig, electrical hand tools, grinders, drill motors, die grinders, porta-band, bench grinder, hydraulic press brake, bandsaws and drill press
- Must be able to lift 60+ lbs and climb ladders; work at heights up to 35 feet (manlift)
- Ability to work independently and in a team; accurate, thorough, and deadline-driven
- CMMS experience preferred
- Must be able to manage spare parts crib
- High school diploma or GED; technical education is a plus
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and stay alert
