ResponsibilitiesThe Neuroscience Unit features 31 acute care beds. Our patient population consists of neurotrauma, stroke, brain tumors, neurological disorders as well as spinal surgical patients. As a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center, we’re focused on providing the highest quality and standard of patient care. If you’re looking to become a neuro specialty nurse and acquire valuable clinical knowledge and skills, we’re your department of choice.
The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION
REQUIRED:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
KNOWLEDGE
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
- BSN degree
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
- Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
