Job Description:

This job is a full time (12-Month), benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Nursing Sciences Division that reports to the Dean of Nursing Sciences Salary : $74,880/YR Schedule - 40-hours per week, on campus, at the Lawrenceville campus;
Monday through Friday;
May occasionally work at the ANF Campus

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10708)
Doctorate or Master's degree in discipline OR pursuing Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline completed. Current RN licensure in Georgia. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all regulatory agencies and appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualifications, two years’ experience teaching college-level nursing courses or two years’ experience as a medical-surgical registered nurse is preferred. Experience in critical care nursing and simulation a plus. Experience in course and curriculum development, demonstrated flexibility with diverse student population and learning styles; demonstrated experience with a variety of teaching strategies including the use of advanced instructional technologies.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the community. Ability to teach in the classroom and in multiple clinical settings, medical-surgical required, BLS/ACLS certification a plus. Proficient in written and oral communication. Demonstrated occupational competency. Must be computer literate with the ability to use common software programs. Some experience with online instruction a plus.

Summary:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited Nursing courses, Med-surg required and/or critical care/Advanced medical-surgical nursing preferred , at a Gwinnett Technical College. Some experience in simulation is a plus. Develops program and syllabi, goals and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.

Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
