Job Summary
The Café Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing shift responsibilities at the Urban Air Café and guiding performance of the team. The role is hands‑on, spending most hours in the kitchen, cooking, preparing, and serving food. The leader must work fast with urgency while maintaining a friendly demeanor for guests and supporting the team.
Responsibilities- Support proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards.
- Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in the event the Café Manager is not present.
- Maintain storage and rotation to minimize waste.
- Manage the Café Team, ensuring they work to expected standards.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and have willingness to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate.
- Train Café Team in preparing the full menu and front‑of‑house staff in preparing drinks and ready‑to‑eat foods to consistently high standard required.
- Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding punctuality, attendance, and attitude; ensure these standards are maintained at all times.
- Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding cleanliness and hygiene, including a regular deep clean schedule.
- Maintain well‑organized and easy‑to‑access Café and storage areas.
- Handle guest concerns regarding the Café in absence of the Café Manager.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some College preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year of prior food and beverage experience (Quick Service and/or restaurant experience).
- One year of leadership experience preferred.
- Current Serv Safe or similar food handling certification, or willingness to obtain within first 30 days.
- Ability to lead, motivate and empower Team Members.
- Ability to align Team Members with Urban Air culture balancing seriousness and fun.
- Willingness to take initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize problems and problem‑solve.
- Ability to set goals and convert plans into action.
- Ability to see patterns in performance and strategize solutions.

- Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required.
- Work in noisy, fast‑paced environment with distracting conditions.
- Move throughout facility and stand for long periods.
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
