As the Field Merchandising Manager you will bring the company's branded programs and in‑store experience to life across our network by ensuring accurate store layouts, visual consistency, and high‑impact execution of stores. This highly field‑based role serves as the execution bridge between the Support Center, category management, and operations, ensuring that fixture placement, floor layout, planogram compliance, signage, adjacencies, and branded merchandising zones are executed consistently across 250+ locations.
This role travels extensively (>80%) to support store openings, remodels, branded zone rollouts, fixtures, resets, and field merchandising coaching. A visual strategist, execution leader, and store layout specialist, this position ensures that every location is visually impactful, operationally practical, and aligned to brand standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead in‑field implementation of approved store layouts, planograms, and branded merchandising zones.
- Execute and optimize floor layouts, fixture placement, endcap direction, cooler set alignment, gondola positioning, and traffic‑flow paths.
- Ensure consistency of layouts across legacy stores, remodeled locations, new builds, and format‑conversion projects.
- Conduct site visits to verify layout accuracy, fixture placement, signage positioning, and brand consistency.
- Document compliance using photo‑based audit tools; provide before/after documentation and adjustment guidance.
- Identify layout challenges and propose commercially and operationally strong improvements.
- Guide stores on planogram accuracy, product adjacencies, shelf‑label alignment, and execution of planogram intent.
- Support store teams in interpreting layout guides, fixture diagrams, and schematic merchandising instructions.
- Ensure operational practicality (clean sightlines, stock flow, ADA spacing, vendor fixture impact).
- Coordinate in‑field execution of vendor displays, promotional fixtures, branded display units, and POP material placement.
- Vet vendor‑provided fixtures for space fit, traffic interference, branding consistency, and execution feasibility.
- Function as a layout execution lead for remodels, refresh projects, and new store openings.
- Align construction, merchandising, marketing, and operations on fixture placement, branded zones, and visual execution timelines.
- Stage fixtures, assist in setup, and final sign‑off for layout readiness pre‑launch.
- Train Store Managers, District Managers, and field teams on layout standards, branded zone execution, and visual merchandising best practices.
- Create simple, photo‑driven execution toolkits, layout diagrams, fixture location maps, and reset instructions.
- Serve as the field resource for stores needing layout troubleshooting or branded program clarification.
- Proven success in retail field merchandising, store layout execution, visual merchandising, or space planning, preferably in convenience stores or grocery.
- Ability to travel about 80% of the time.
- Direct experience with floor layouts, fixture diagrams, and branded in‑store merchandising.
- Strong understanding of traffic flow, operational practicality, product adjacencies, and retail space planning.
- Experience supporting remodels, conversions, or large‑scale rollout programs.
- Familiarity with planogram software.
