Diesel Mechanics

Overview

Work on modern, low-mileage, private fleet equipment (Volvos and/or Freightliners with Cummins, Volvo and Detroit engines) in clean, safe shop facilities

• Provide bumper-to-bumper preventive maintenance service and/or repair to tractors, trailers and Toyota forklifts
• Use computers for diagnostics and troubleshooting
• Electrical troubleshooting; tire maintenance; minor transmission repair; brake and air conditioning system repair
• Recent graduates welcome!
• Need to be able to train on dayshift until processes and computers are learned.
• May have occasional extra work on a weekend day but primary shift will be Weekdays, Night shift.

• Mechanic Qualifications B-Level
• Perform all items in C level plus the following:
  Diagnose, repair, or replace any external component of (eng, trans, rear end, cab/body, glass, interior components, sensors, suspension, etc) R&R major components (engine assy, trans, rear end, clutch, 5th wheel, starter/charging system, drive-line components, trailer panels and posts, trailer roofs, cross- members, doors, dolly assy, etc)
• Exhibit torch and welder knowledge (uses both with acceptable results)
• Exhibit diagnostic knowledge (understands and uses available tools and resources)
• Exhibit advanced TMT/TINA knowledge and usage
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems including but not limited to Qualcomm, Vorad, Sky Bitz, etc
• Ability to perform trailer axle alignment Wheel end, PSI system, and ABS diagnosis and repair
• Troubleshoot and repair air systems Brake certified, A/C certified
• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid Driver's License
• Convictions for Reckless Driving within the past 5 years will be reviewed on a case by case basis
• Convictions for DUI within the past 5 years will be reviewed on a case by case basis
• License suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years will be reviewed on case by case basis
• More than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years will be reviewed on a case by case basis

Full-time

$29.00 - $33.00 per hour
