Responsibilities
  • Manages repair, maintenance, and construction projects including receipt of necessary local agency approval for action, preparation and submission of the appropriate work request forms.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate agency officials for the development of project design, monitors funds allocated for specified projects, and provides status of those funds as the projects progress.
  • Reviews and analyzes Statements of Work ensuring an explanation of work required is available to prospective contractors showing them the area where work is to be performed so that they might submit a bid based on all available information.
  • Provides a monthly status report on projects funded by the agency participating in walk-throughs of completed projects with civil engineering and procurement organizations for acceptance of work ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
  • Oversees the maintenance of facilities belonging to DLA, to include: researching the information necessary to meet space management requirements and providing reports to host organizations and Inter‑Service Support Agreement (ISSA) personnel.
  • Performs inspections including measuring areas, checking physical layout of structure, gathering information regarding category of building or storage in place, ownership of material stored, and square footage available for utilization.
  • Coordinates with host Civil Engineering (CE) organization for emergency repair/construction as well as determining monthly, the priority of non‑emergency work requests.

To qualify for a Support Services Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Education Substitution:
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education.   • Specialized

    Experience:

    One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS‑09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

    Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time‑in‑grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time‑after‑competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut‑off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Uses administrative practices and procedures to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems and situations.
  • Applies rules, regulations, and policies of Host organization and/or the agency headquarters concerning repair, maintenance, and construction reports.
  • Analyzes and compares past reports in order to determine effective use of current space utilization.
