Overview

KSWO is an ABC affiliate and the top-rated station in southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. Gray Media, a multimedia company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, owns KSWO and a broad portfolio of television stations and digital assets. Lawton, Oklahoma offers outdoor recreation and a growing market with proximity to major cities. This position is for an experienced professional to anchor and produce the main weekday newscasts and help lead the newsroom with editorial judgment and audience engagement.

• Anchor live television broadcasts for the evening newscasts (4 p.m. and 5 p.m.).
• Produce the daily 4 p.m. newscast.
• Use editorial judgment to determine content of the newscasts; read through and proof scripts before airing.
• Create news packages for on-air and digital platforms, including regular franchise or special reports, as assigned by the news director.
• Engage with the community by attending, hosting, or speaking at local events.
• Post and regularly update stories and other material on digital and social media; interact with viewers on social media, particularly through Facebook Live.

• At least three years of experience in the news industry.
• A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent skills in interviewing, ad-libbing, conversational broadcast writing, and on-air presentation.
• Strong news judgment and professional experience with news operations.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
