Position Title

Dean, Graduate and Professional Studies

The Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Cameron University is responsible for providing administrative and academic leadership in a student-centered environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies
• Makes recommendations on budget and curriculum as well as appointment, tenure, and promotion of faculty following standard procedures
• Provides guidance and support for the College's participation in campus-wide assessment activities
• Takes an active role in the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff
• Works with departments and accrediting bodies to ensure continued adherence to accreditation standards
• Provides leadership to the College in working with external constituencies

The Dean will report to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

• Holds a terminal degree
• Has a record of effective teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with a tenured professor appointment
• Has demonstrated leadership experience

• Has a record of administrative achievement at the departmental level or higher
• Has experience in faculty personnel management, budget management, grant writing, and fundraising
• Has experience in working with external constituencies and advisory bodies
• Has experience with any of the accrediting bodies associated with the College of Graduate and Professional Studies and/or the Higher Learning Commission
• Has demonstrated leadership in program development, modification, and assessment practices
