Dialysis Patient Care Technician

U.S. Renal Care invites dedicated professionals to join our team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will work cross‑functionally under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) to provide comprehensive dialysis treatment for patients with renal failure.

Patient Care – Directly interact with patients to deliver safe, comfortable, and high‑quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and terminating treatment, monitoring patients throughout dialysis, and collecting blood samples per physician orders.

Technician Duties – Prepare hemodialysis machines, clean and disinfect machines after each treatment, conduct machine safety checks, and log results for quality control. Ensure all protocols and regulations are followed.

Safety and Quality – Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws. Participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

What we’re looking for

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
  • Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of U.S. Renal Care training program approved by the Medical Director, including competency in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within eight weeks of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by state law.
  • Patient Care Technician certification obtained through a state or nationally recognized program within 18 months of hire and maintained in good standing thereafter.
