JOB DESCRIPTION:
West Coast Code Consultants, Inc. (WC³) is currently seeking an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to join our team in Utah. This position offers the opportunity to provide expert analysis and perform plan review services on behalf of WC³’s jurisdictional client base in the Utah region while upholding safety standards and fostering innovative design solutions. Candidates will be responsible for reviewing drawings, structural calculations, soil reports, and other construction documents involving various single-family, multi-family, and commercial construction projects to ensure compliance with the applicable building codes and referenced design standards.
Continual training is expected to take place, and individuals will be encouraged to obtain plan review certifications through the International Code Council (ICC). If you’re ready to make a significant impact in the structural engineering field, apply today!
This is an in-office position that will report to and receive support from management based in our Layton Regional Office in Layton, UT.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- State of Utah Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer licensure is preferred.
- Having passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam is required.
- 5+ years of structural design of plan review experience is preferred.
- International Code Council (ICC) plan review certifications are a plus.
- Good oral and written communication skills are required.
- Perform reviews of building plans and other construction documents to determine compliance with the structural requirements of the building code.
- Write letters of deficiency to permit applicants in a detailed and efficient manner.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with jurisdictional clients, permit applicants, and contractors to help keep projects moving forward in a positive direction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
$85k – $115k annually / depends on experience
