Janicki Industries is a private and family-owned business based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah, facility. The Layton Utah facility specializes in machining the largest most complex structures built from carbon fiber composites and aluminum for the aerospace and space exploration markets. The parts produced are installed on todays most advanced fighters, bombers, rockets, and space vehicles. Janicki Industries continues to lead the market with both innovations and abilities alike.

We are looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our team.
This position is located on-site in Layton, Utah.
Off-Shift Differential of $12,000 Annually Applies for the Swing Shift.
POSITION DESCRIPTIONProject Engineers are responsible for the execution of highly complex jobs, from cradle-to-grave. You will be a part of a value-stream team, working side-by-side with Operations and our technical experts to solve our Customer’s most challenging projects. The following essential job functions are performed as a Project Engineer:
- Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in project development of manufacturing plans, schedules, and quality plans
- Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports
- Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are met
- Complete Inspection Plans in conjunction with Project Planning and in coordination with Project Management
- Verify compliance to codes, standards and customer contracts
- Performs in process and final inspections on customer ordered projects as necessary
- Organize and monitor Corrective Actions, assist to evaluate and determine Root Cause and Corrective Action Plans
- Must be able to comply with Safety, 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices
- Develops detailed Production Build Plan packages based upon customer process specifications and engineering drawings
- Maintains heightened awareness of the project schedule for each project as it moves through the value stream in order to meet key project deadlines
- Facilitates communication and consultation with Program Management, Operations, QA and HR
- Assists Project Managers in the execution of a project plan, including the development of Work Orders, materials procurement and organization, preparation of schedules and budgets, and various other project activities
- Behavior:

The incumbent shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. - Being at work on time and maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Must show a proficiency in technical writing through previous experience in producing testing plans, final reports, process instructions, or other equivalent activities
- Experience with CATIA and NX CAD software is a plus
