Senior Mechatronics Engineer with Security Clearance
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer with security clearance to perform design, analysis, and improvement of aerospace manufacturing components.
Responsibilities- Research and select materials based on customer strength or tooling requirements.
- Create drawings from 3D models in accordance with ASME standards.
- Reverse engineer parts and assemblies using standard machine‑shop inspection tools and equipment to fill in missing or incorrect data in drawings and loft.
- Assist in vendor selection based on derived project or specification requirements.
- Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes (ISO
9001, AS9100D, and NADCAP). - Support continuous improvement.
- Write detailed build, assembly, inspection, and production instructions to assist the production team.
- Identify root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for discrepancies and deficiencies.
- Utilize the lean manufacturing approach to integrate automation and increase efficiency of manufacturing processes.
- Assist in mentoring junior engineers and technicians to transfer process knowledge.
- Support business development efforts and provide technical expertise on bids, proposals, and RFQs.
- Prioritize and execute tasking in a timely fashion within a dynamic work environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area.
- Experience with NX and/or Solid Works and the ability to model complex, lofted aerospace parts (preferred).
- Experience reading and interpreting government 2D drawings and GD&T.
- Experience automating tooling to manufacture, repair, and assemble aircraft parts.
- Experience designing and implementing advanced additive manufacturing solutions.
- Experience with Lab View, NX, and/or MATLAB to process and compile data for test reporting and R&D projects.
- Experience with C++, Python, and/or Rust programming languages for system integration and control‑system development.
- Knowledge and experience with tooling design for composite manufacturing (preferred).
- Understanding and experience with various additive and reductive manufacturing processes.
- Security:
Must be a U.S. citizen; ability to obtain a security clearance may be required. - Physical requirements:
occasionally reach with hands and arms; prolonged periods of computer screen use; adherence to safety protocols with PPE.
