Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is seeking a full‑time Lead Acquisition Program Management Specialist to work in the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Systems Directorate, Sentinel Systems Division at Hill Air Force Base near Layton, Utah. This position (973835) is an NH-1101-03 with a typical 2025 salary range of $88,621–$137,000.
The Sentinel program is an ACAT 1D major defense acquisition program charged to deliver a full system replacement for the nation's Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM System, providing a strategic deterrent. This position is integral to the success of the Sentinel weapon system and the continued support of one leg of the nation's nuclear triad.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Lead in the Deployment Section within the Sentinel Launch Systems Branch. Program Managers in AFNWC solve highly complex problems and take part in a variety of projects to promote national security through nuclear deterrence.
Duties- Lead a geographically dispersed team, including subject matter experts from Sentinel and Minuteman III programs, Air Force Global Strike Command, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Civil Engineering Center and contractors, to plan, coordinate, and execute program activities.
- Represent the organization at executive levels within the government and to contractor/industry representatives, delivering presentations on project/program status, accomplishments, challenges, support requirements, and integration objectives.
- Establish management controls such as milestones, expenditure rates, management indicators, and reviews to reflect program status and provide early detection of emerging problems.
- Advise Branch and Division leadership on programmatic and technical risks associated with implementing proposed solutions.
- Provide continuous assessment and evaluation of goals, objectives, strategies, and performance to ensure a sound basis for long‑range acquisition program management processes and follow‑on system life‑cycle support planning.
- Experience managing execution of elements of a DoD ACAT I/II program is highly desired.
- Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills with demonstrated experience in leading, influencing and collaborating in a diverse team environment that includes external functional and program stakeholders.
- Develop and coordinate effective integrated support for schedules, plans, roadmaps, and milestones to successfully execute or field a weapon system.
- Experience preparing and presenting briefings, reports, findings and recommendations, program information, written summaries, and results from synthesized data and/or metric analysis to senior leadership, external stakeholders and customers.
- Ability to make connections among technical and organizational system elements.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred; a master's degree is ideal.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information.
- Must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, including achieving Program Management Practitioner certification within required timeframe after appointment.
- May be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter (in accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978).
