The facility specializes in machining the largest and most complex structures built from carbon fiber composites and aluminum for the aerospace and space exploration markets. Weekend Day Shift

Hours:

5:30 am – 6:00 pm, Friday – Sunday
There is a $3.00 shift differential for weekend day shift.
Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 hours.
Position

Description:

This position is located on‑site in Layton, Utah.
Join our team as a Production Technician and apply your skills in a dynamic, hands‑on manufacturing environment. You will perform composite fabrication, resin infusion, assembly, mill operations, metrology, oven processing, and waterjet cutting while using your NDI Level II expertise to set up and calibrate inspection equipment, interpret results, and ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and specifications.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Production Technician:

  • Read, interpret, and follow pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and other technical documents.
  • Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassemblies.
  • Perform test fit and gap checks with high tolerances.
  • Perform countersinking activities.
  • Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs.
  • Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools.
  • Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies.
  • Layout and mark reference points.
  • Keep work orders stamped, dated, and organized.
  • Vacuum bagging to prepare parts for drop tests, debulking fabric, and infusion.
  • Perform tabbing operations to work order specifications.
  • General sanding and finish work using grinders and sandpaper as needed.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD‑free condition.
  • Package and crate parts for shipment, including shrink wrapping.
  • Use common hand tools for assembly components per verbal, written, and drawing requirements.
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Be punctual and maintain good attendance; this is a condition of employment and an essential function of the job.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Because of ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident (as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Education / Experience

  • Minimum requirement: high‑school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of professional assembly experience in complex assembly and aircraft frame assembly/maintenance preferred.
  • Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform NDT tasks and interpret inspection results.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

Additional Information

  • Wage range: $20–$45 per hour plus discretionary bonus. Benefits include 401(k) matching, vacation, health benefits, and additional pay for off‑shifts, off‑site work, and access pay. The range is an estimate; actual offer will be based on experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
