Job DescriptionMedical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and performs key clinical functions to support plasma center operations.

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and apply SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location & CompensationUSA – UT – Layton
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $31.92 – $43.89. The actual hourly wage will be based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and local minimum wage requirements.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time and, for new hires, up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
