Shift Lead

Location: Layton Hills Mall

Pay Range: Based on area and experience

Employee Type: Full or Part Time

Reports To: General Manager, Assistant Manager

Melty is looking for dynamic people to engage with our guests and create and serve our amazing melts! We do grilled cheese in a whole new way…In a fun, fast-paced environment, and we’d love for you to be part of our team. Engage with Melty guests, guide them through the ordering process and make sure they are thrilled with their “memorable” experience. Make every order a masterpiece in both look and taste. Handle some opening and closing duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Warmly greet and engage each guest
• Assist guest in selection process
• Responsible for accurate cashing, including opening and closing accounting duties
• Enter orders into the point of sale (POS) system, collect payment, provide correct change, etc.
• Interact with guests and insure that proper sequence of service is followed
• Have a detailed knowledge of the Melty menu
• Be able to suggestive sell

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Have basic understanding of cooking and serving food, and can read and follow basic recipes and procedures
• Measure and assemble ingredients to create melted sandwiches, sauces, sides and desserts
• Have ability to operate and/or familiarity working with food slicer and kitchen knife
• Clean and sanitize equipment, work station, and other areas of the store
• Stock products as needed

• Embrace and promote all facets of Melty's Principles
• Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support all functions at a Melty restaurant
• Assist with putting away new deliveries
• Assist with guest service
• Assist with overall store cleanliness
  
  Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Possess the necessary social skills to work with different personalities, and provide excellent service to all patrons
• Demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors and co-workers
• Be an ambassador of Melty inside and outside of work

Education, Experience & Other

• No prior experience or training is necessary
• Previous guest service and/or food & beverage experience preferred
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Reliable transportation or reliable use of public transportation

Certifications

• Must have or obtain a current Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of employment

Knowledge

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent

• Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
