Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. • Help customers discover new items or respond to inquiries.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend items to ensure they get what they need.
• Check product quality, review sell‑by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with fresh and non‑perishable products they have ordered.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
• Gain and maintain product knowledge and respond to questions.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of needed repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Customer service skills.
