Grocery Clerk – Smith's Food & Drug Centers
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Smith's Food and Drug has been serving customers in Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming since 1998, after merging with The Kroger Company. The position is part-time.

Minimum Position Qualifications- Customer Service skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Customer Service skills.
- Retail experience.
- Assist customers in discovering new grocery items or products.
- Inform customers about food specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness, reviewing sell‑by dates and taking appropriate action.
- Provide customers with fresh and non‑perishable grocery products they have ordered.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions.
- Create an environment that welcomes customers and makes them feel valued.
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting items needing repair.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
