Part Time Recreation Specialist I – Independent Sector

Performs a variety of entry‑level duties to coordinate the day‑to‑day operation of one or more City recreation programs.

• Promotes and follows the City’s mission statement, values and expectations.
• Officiates, umpires, and monitors programs to assure rules, regulations and equipment are adequate and correct during specific recreational activities (e.g., baseball, softball, basketball, flag football, etc.). Maintains scores and compiles records for submission to the Site Supervisor.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors and the public. Answers inquiries and provides information.
• Monitors general activities of field/facility to assure safety. Reports safety concerns or problems to the Site Supervisor. Provides general field/facility maintenance and cleaning.
• Performs related duties as required.

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Sufficient education and training to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform the above and related duties.
• Must attend and pass a training class to become a certified official and scorekeeper.

Salary: $10.00 – $12.00 per hour.
