Quality Specialist

Job Description

Conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to established quality standards and investigate, analyze, and resolve supplier quality issues, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects with our suppliers.

• Lead and participate in food safety and quality system and product/process audits, and maintain the supplier and raw material risk matrix, identifying high, medium, and low risk suppliers.
• Communicate and schedule audits with suppliers and team members; perform pre‑audit research and planning.
• Conduct supplier audits, identify gaps and weaknesses, and implement Corrective Actions & Preventative Actions (CAPA).
• Ideate, create, and assist in the maintenance of supplier audit process standard work.
• Assist in the development of the annual supplier audit schedules and review of self‑assessments completed by suppliers.
• Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Travel 75‑80% of the time to suppliers across the U.S., combining audits in single trips when feasible.

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 6 years of experience in a quality leadership and/or auditor role.
• Strong audit practices and knowledge of manufacturing and corporate quality concepts.
• Proficiency in written and oral communications across all organizational levels.
• Analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to direct, organize, and conduct complex auditing projects and engage internal customers with enthusiasm and adaptability.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
• Ability to earn and maintain Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification.
