OverviewUniversity of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) – Galveston, League City and Clear Lake, Texas. UTMB Health is a $2.2 billion academic health science center with five hospitals, outpatient clinics, and Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Health Professions, Public and Population Health, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The division seeks an experienced clinician with a passion for academics at the Assistant Professor level to participate in division activities.
The collaborates with the Center for Tropical Diseases, Institute for Human Infection and Immunity, Center for Global Health Education, and the Departments of Pathology and Microbiology & Immunology. The role involves inpatient coverage at the Clear Lake Campus and establishing 1 to 2 weekly half‑day outpatient clinic sessions at League City and/or Clear Lake campuses. The faculty member will also participate in division academic endeavors, including supervision of students, residents, and/or fellows in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide consultation coverage at the Clear Lake Campus.
- Establish 1 to 2 weekly half-day outpatient clinic sessions at League City and/or Clear Lake campuses.
- Participate in multiple academic endeavors of the division, including supervision of students, residents, and/or fellows in inpatient consultation and outpatient clinic.
- MD or DO degree.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine program and Infectious Disease Fellowship program.
- Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
- Strong commitment to patient care and academic medicine with demonstrated ability to mentor trainees.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.
