- Completion of MRI training program, including the UTMB MR Training Program.

- American Heart Association (BLS).
- Must be MRI certified or MRI registry‑eligible at the time of hire.
- Registry‑eligible candidates are required to obtain MRI certification through the American Registry of Radiologic (ARRT) or an equivalent certifying body within six (6) months of hire.
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist I position works independently to complete a variety of routine MR procedures, including common and specialty MR exams of moderate complexity. This position provides direct assistance to physicians for all diagnostic and special MR procedures. It delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to MR exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
The technologist is a member of the direct patient care team and performs imaging in inpatient, emergency room, and hybrid operating room settings at the first medical school in the State of Texas. The technologist works with 1.5 T and 3.0 T GE and Siemens equipment, performing state‑of‑the‑art prostate, cardiac, breast, pediatric, perfusion, and research protocols.
Saturday/ Sunday/ Monday 7:00 p – 7:30 a; includes call rotation and holidays.
MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST II REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- Completion of an MRI Training Program, including the UTMB MR Training Program.
- Proficient in advanced interventional cases and MR diagnostic cases of the head, cardiac, prostate, and breast.
- 3+ years of experience.
- American Heart Association (BLS).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT‑MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
The MRI Technologist II is an experienced technologist who completes a variety of routine to complex MR procedures, including common and specialty MR exams of high difficulty. The technologist is a member of the direct patient care team, fully competent in all aspects of ultrasound exams, and serves as a mentor and trainer to the MR Technologist I and students. The technologist works independently, exercising sound judgment and executing above‑average clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures.
The technologist provides direct assistance to physicians for all diagnostic and specialty MR procedures, delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
