Full-time day shift med/surg/ICU RN with 2 years clinical experience and current Texas RN license and BLS.
Job SummaryCompetent Clinician with knowledge to meet standards for professional nursing practice. Provides patient-centered care and serves as resource for less experienced nurses.
Qualifications and Education- RN license, current Texas permit and BLS required.
- Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience, preferably med/surg.
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of assigned patients.
- Executes physician orders, administers medications, and provides culturally congruent care.
- Performs routine technical procedures and special area skills.
- Provides patient/family teaching and uses Teach-Back.
- Coordinates and delegates care activities, prioritizes patient needs.
- Demonstrates ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, patient advocacy.
- Communicates respectfully with interdisciplinary team.
- Recognizes unit and institutional goals, financial responsibility.
- Participates in unit meetings, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Maintains safety, infection control, cost containment, and documentation standards.
- Complete required competency orientation and self-evaluation tools.
- Perform point-of-care testing and maintain aseptic technique.
- Prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines.
- Maintain record accuracy and comply with UTMB regulations.
- Adhere to internal controls, reporting structure, and safety policies.
Salary commensurate with experience.
