American National is looking for an Entry‑Level Programmer Analyst to join our Annuity Software Development team. If you’re passionate about programming and eager to learn, this role offers the perfect opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to critical business systems.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in building and maintaining software that powers our Annuity products, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and innovation in a fast‑paced financial environment.

• Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop, code, and unit test applications using enterprise tools and technologies.
• Support and enhance systems that drive Annuity operations.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and occasional after‑hours work to keep systems running smoothly.

You will work with the following technologies (training resources provided for self‑study):

• COBOL
• JCL
• DB2/SQL
• ZEKE/ZENA or related job scheduling tools
• Xpediter/Abend Aid or similar debugging tools

• MOVEit/FTP
• APIs (z/OS Connect)

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Mathematics, or related field.

  Skills:
  
  Foundational programming knowledge and willingness to learn mainframe technologies.
• Soft Skills:
  
  Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and excellent communication.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay may be modified in the future.
