Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Virtual Designer (VD2) to join a leading electrical construction company in the Austin / Leander area
.
This is a hybrid position – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week – supporting commercial, industrial, institutional, and large-scale electrical construction projects.
What You'll Do- Build 3D electrical models using Revit and Navisworks
- Produce detailed electrical shop drawings
- Perform BIM coordination, clash detection, and resolution
- Follow GC-led BIM coordination through model sign-off
- Work closely with field superintendents, project teams, GCs, and MEP trades
- Produce bills of materials for procurement and labor tracking
- Help maintain Revit templates, details, and graphic standards
- Mentor and support Detailers
- 2–5 years of CAD/BIM experience in commercial construction
- Strong Autodesk Revit experience
- Experience with Navisworks Manage
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Electrical construction experience is a plus
- NEC knowledge or electrical field experience is a plus
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
- Austin / Leander area
