Founding Physical Education Teacher – BASIS Leander (Opening Fall 2026)

BASIS Charter Schools is seeking a highly motivated and engaging Founding Physical Education Teacher to join the inaugural team at BASIS Leander in Leander, Texas. This rare and exciting opportunity will help shape the culture, community, and academic success of a new school opening in Fall 2026. • Deliver a dynamic PE program that supports physical development, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness.
• Teach Physical Education classes that emphasize fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and healthy habits.
• Create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation and builds confidence.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
• Play a pivotal role in establishing the school's culture and collaborate with founding teachers to create a cohesive and supportive academic community.
• Actively participate in professional development opportunities and school‑wide meetings to continually improve instructional practices.
• Serve as an advisor or mentor, guiding students in their academic and personal growth within the BASIS model.

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major or significant coursework in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. A master’s degree is highly desirable.
• Prior teaching experience in Physical Education or coaching youth sports is strongly preferred.
• Profound passion for health, fitness, and student development.
• Exceptional classroom management skills and ability to create an organized, highly focused, and positive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative spirit and commitment to working as part of a dynamic, founding team.

At this stage we are gathering interest and applications for future teaching roles at BASIS Leander. Interviews are expected to begin in December 2025 and January 2026. Exact teaching roles and grade‑level assignments are not yet finalized and will be determined closer to the school's opening.
