Fletcher George is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a leading professional services firm in Sutton, Surrey. You will work with a diverse portfolio ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups and growing owner-managed businesses to established companies and larger corporate groups.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant taking the next step or an experienced Accounts Senior looking for greater client ownership. Alongside preparing and reviewing financial statements, you will support and supervise active ACA and ACCA studiers within the team.

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and owner-managed businesses
• Work with clients ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to established businesses and larger corporate groups
• Ensure financial statements comply with UK GAAP, including FRS 102 and FRS 102 Section 1A
• Manage assignments, deadlines and day-to-day client communication
• Review work prepared by trainees and part-qualified accountants
• Support junior colleagues with their professional studies and technical development
• Liaise with colleagues across the firm on corporation tax and wider client matters
• Identify opportunities to provide clients with additional accounting and business support
• Build trusted relationships with business owners and senior client contacts
• Keep technical knowledge current through regular CPD and structured professional development

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Currently working within a UK accountancy practice
• Experienced in preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Confident applying UK GAAP and relevant financial reporting standards
• Comfortable reviewing the work of junior team members
• Able to manage multiple assignments and communicate directly with clients
• Supportive, organised and interested in helping trainees develop

You may be a recently qualified accountant looking for a more interesting client portfolio and increased responsibility. Alternatively, you may already be operating at Senior Accountant or Accounts Senior level and want to join a larger, well-resourced firm closer to home.

The salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 has been set by Fletcher George as a guide and will reflect the successful candidate’s qualifications and relevant accountancy practice experience.

The position is based in Sutton, Surrey, and is easily commutable from Epsom, Banstead, Cheam, Wallington, Croydon, Wimbledon, Kingston and surrounding areas of Surrey and South West London.
