The RoleAs a Bid Writer
, you will drive new and repeat business growth by crafting high-quality, compliant, and compelling tenders and proposals. Working across both public and private sector opportunities, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, define clear win themes, and develop persuasive, evidence-led responses.

Qualification:
Lead the qualification process for new opportunities to evaluate feasibility and strategic fit. Define win themes, key differentiators, and bid action plans with clear milestone deadlines. - Proposal & Content Development: Write original, persuasive tender responses tailored to specific client needs. Re-work, refine, and update pre-written bid assets to maximise scoring potential.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal operational, technical, commercial, and executive teams to gather precise submission details. Provide regular progress updates to leadership.
- Governance, Quality & Compliance: Conduct rigorous reviews before submission to verify accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client criteria. Maintain structured records of bid outcomes and action plans.
- Bid Knowledge Management: Continually build and maintain a central bid knowledge library containing up-to-date responses, case studies, and evidence packs. Lead post-bid lessons-learned reviews to continuously elevate win rates.
- Market Insights & Thought Leadership: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to sharpen bid positioning. Assist with content creation for internal and external communications, including blogs and business development marketing materials.
- Portal Management Oversight: Support the Bid Coordinator in overseeing administrative activities and managing e-sourcing portals to ensure timely, error-free submissions.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant discipline.
- Bid Writing Track Record: Proven experience leading or supporting tender submissions, engaging subject matter experts, and managing tight submission deadlines.
- High-Pressure Capabilities: Experience thriving within fast-paced, high-volume environments while influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Health & Safety: General awareness of workplace H&S responsibilities and safe practices.
- APMP Certification (Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional level).
- Experience with in social housing or public sector procurement environments.
- Hands-on experience with major e-sourcing/tender portal management.
- Formal H&S training (e.g., IOSH Working Safely).
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding written English skills with a rich vocabulary and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Methodical problem solver with strong research capability and commercial awareness.
- Collaborative & Adaptable: Proven ability to build rapport, gather technical inputs smoothly, and maintain composure under tight deadlines.
