Little Downsend Leatherhead, located just a 5 minute walk from the Junior and Senior School, possesses its own special character, with large bright, well equipped classrooms, brimming with interactive activities. Aboutthe Role
As a Learning Support Assistant at Little Downsend, you will play a vital role in supporting the education, wellbeing and development of pupils in the Early Years and Key Stage
1. Working under the guidance of the SENCo, you will support individual pupils and small groups both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning safely, confidently and inclusively. You will build positive relationships with pupils, act as a strong role model, and contribute to a nurturing, well‑managed environment where every child feels valued. This role also involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and, where appropriate, English as an Additional Language, while upholding the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral care expectations.
This is a fixed‑term contract until 31 August 2026, working part‑time for 17 hours a week.
Who We Are Looking ForYou are caring, patient and committed, with a strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice. You enjoy working collaboratively with teachers and colleagues and are confident supporting children with varying needs. You bring a positive attitude, good organisational skills and a genuine commitment to helping every pupil thrive. Experience in a school setting is essential, and a passion for learning support in the Early Years and KS1 is key.
