Senior Flow Assurance Engineer

We are seeking experienced Senior Flow Assurance Engineers to join an exciting project based in Leatherhead. This is a six‑month contract role involving hybrid working and delivering critical studies in the oil and gas sector. Ideal for professionals with strong expertise in flow assurance and simulation tools, this role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to high‑profile projects.

Salary £55–£65 per hour (Limited Company), outside IR35 – subject to QDOS assessment.

Location and Working Pattern Leatherhead, Surrey Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote. Start: ASAP Duration: 6 months.

Client Overview Our client is a leading engineering services organisation supporting worldwide energy projects with technical excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise during study execution.
  • Conduct flow assurance studies using software such as OLGA and PIPESIM.
  • Build and maintain pipeline simulation models, run simulations, and analyse results.
  • Deliver reports and present outcomes to client technical teams.
  • Perform design calculations and prepare technical documentation to required quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on methodologies and best practices.
  • Lead or contribute to study teams as defined by project scope.
  • Support the development of flow assurance strategies, philosophies and procedures.
Must‑have Requirements
  • Strong practical experience with OLGA and PIPESIM.
  • Minimum 6 years’ hands‑on experience in flow assurance modelling for multiphase pipelines.
  • Expertise in transient simulation and analysis of hydrodynamics issues (slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion).
  • Knowledge of pipeline sizing, thermo‑hydraulic studies, and over pressure protection including surge pressure analysis.
  • Familiarity with standards, regulations, and thermodynamics (experience with Multiflash preferred).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrable report writing and client presentation skills.
  • Full right to live and work in the UK.
Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Knowledge of process modelling in HYSYS.
  • Operational experience in oil and gas facilities.
  • Experience integrating flow assurance with topside process engineering.
