Assistant Underwriter

Jensten – a leading specialist insurance provider – is seeking a motivated Assistant Underwriter to support our Schemes Underwriting team. This is an office‑based position in our Modern Leatherhead site, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:15 pm.

• Assist with negotiations and agree renewals and new business within delegated authority.
• Prepare and issue quotations, policy documentation, endorsements and associated paperwork.
• Liaise with brokers and internal teams to gather information and ensure timely delivery of documentation.
• Maintain accurate records through data entry, system updates and reporting.
• Support credit control processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage personal workload, including inboxes, diaries and underwriting files.
• Contribute to risk assessment and pricing activities as expertise develops.

• Proven experience in insurance; marine, goods in transit, storage knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with brokers and internal teams.
• Ability to work effectively in an office‑based environment (Leatherhead location).
