PROJECT MANAGER - SMARTSPACE
Wates is looking for a Project Manager to join our Smart Space team, taking project leadership on a range of exciting retail fit‑out projects. If you are a Project Manager with proven technical skills looking for an opportunity to challenge the norm, bring fresh new ideas and elevate yourself within the industry, we would like to hear from you!
To be suited to this opportunity, you will ideally have experience managing fast‑paced retail fit‑out projects. This role works in partnership with one of our clients, a major retail company.
AboutThe Role
Our Project Managers are a valuable part of our business; the focus of this role will be to provide visible management, insight, project coordination and foresight in the safe and compliant delivery of schemes, while also providing excellent customer satisfaction and successfully mentoring and guiding a team.
This role will involve nationwide travel in line with ongoing and upcoming projects across the UK.
As Our Project Manager You Will- Develop project briefs, schedules and budgets, manage work from and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Manage on‑site teams, coordinate subcontractors and ensure quality control of installations.
- Monitor project budgets, track variations, manage costs and approve progress claims.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, provide regular progress updates and ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards (e.g., RAMS), conduct risk assessments and maintain a safe, compliant site.
- Manage site documentation, including RFIs, change orders and snagging lists.
- Provide regular support, feedback and cover for your project director in their absence.
