Parenting Facilitator (EPEC) Family Hubs Programme Make a real difference to children, young people and families across Birmingham. Barnardo's are working in partnership with Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Forward Steps to deliver the Best Start for Life' / Family Hubs Programme for children and young people aged 019 years (up to 25 years for thosewithSpecial Educational Needs and Disabilities). We are looking for a passionate, motivated, and enthusiastic Parenting Facilitator to join our Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support families across Birmingham through the citywide Family Hub parenting workstream. About the Role As an EPEC Facilitator, you will play a key role in improving outcomes for children, young people and families by delivering evidence-based parenting support across the city. You will train, support and mentor volunteer Parent Group Leaders to deliver peer-led parenting programmes, while also facilitating parenting programmes directly with parents and carers.
Working with children, young people and families, you will help parents develop a greater understanding of their children's development and behaviour, build confidence in their parenting skills, and strengthen family relationships. The role involves working collaboratively with a range of partner organisations, including health, education, voluntary and community sector services, to ensure families receive coordinated and effective support.
Key Responsibilities Deliver parenting programmes to parents and carers on both an individual and group basis. Train, support and mentor Parent Group Leaders to facilitate peer-led parenting programmes. Work in partnership with parents and carers to empower them to achieve positive outcomes for their children. Build effective working relationships with children's services, health professionals, schools and community organisations. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Family Hubs parenting offer.
Maintain accurate case records and contribute to reports as required. Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures in line with organisational policies and procedures. Promote and maintain health, safety and wellbeing within the working environment. Support children, young people and families using a variety of interventions designed to meet identified needs and improve outcomes. About You We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of working with children, young people and families. Is passionate about supporting parents and improving family outcomes. Has excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building skills. Can confidently deliver group work and training sessions. Understands safeguarding and child protection responsibilities. Is able to work collaboratively with a range of professionals and partner agencies. Has strong organisational skills and can maintain accurate records.
