Job Description

The CMOP program provides prescription mailings for veterans and other patients. Services will support CMOP’s mission by preparing prescriptions and packages accurately, timely, and cost-effectively without disruption to services or production.

Pro Sidian seeks a Pharmacist Technician to support an engagement with The Veteran's Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP). Services shall include, but are not limited to, transcription of prescriptions, dispensing, prescription reconstitution, patient consultation, quality improvement, and supply control duties.

This is a Contract Contingent position and the services shall be performed at: 5000 S 13th St, Leavenworth, KS 66048. The selected candidate is expected to fulfill the service tasks to a satisfactory level of professionalism and quality.

Job Requirements:

To perform the duties, the Pharmacist Technician must meet the minimum education and experience requirements set forth.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience in a retail pharmacy or customer service setting.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Call-up patients using the queuing system with two identifiers (full name and date of birth); fill and dispense new and refill prescriptions; verify labels and apply required auxiliary labels.
  • Create, maintain, and dispose of government-required records as applicable.
  • Pre-package high-usage medications and log medications under supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automated counting/dispensing equipment as instructed.
  • Daily cleaning of countertops, shelves, disposal of medications, and sanitization of reconstitution/compounding areas.

Mandatory Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Plan, organize, and manage functions and staff to meet program objectives.
  • Knowledge of military healthcare organizational structure, policies, procedures, and operations related to healthcare delivery systems.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills and ability to learn new systems.
  • Read, understand, speak, and write English fluently to communicate with patients.
  • Typing skills and computer literacy with Microsoft Windows/Office.

Service Quality – Filling/Dispensing prescriptions

  • Quality:
    No more than 2 errors per month in filling/dispensing prescriptions.
  • Quantity: 500–1000 prescriptions filled per month on average.
  • Customer Service:
    No more than 1 customer complaint per month where the employee is named in the complaint.
