Overview
We are seeking a Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse, also referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) or CCU RN. The Cardiac Nurse plays a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions, cardiac issues, and associated illnesses, providing tailored care to enhance recovery and quality of life.
Bonus Options: Up to a $20,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)

Hours: 12hr options - Self Schedule
Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities, crucial for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, heart attacks, or other cardiac conditions.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications.
- Perform assessments of patients' cardiac status, including physical assessments, reviewing medical histories, and evaluating symptoms.
- Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self‑care practices.
- React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, initiating emergency procedures, administering CPR, and aiding in defibrillation and other life‑saving measures.
Education, Experience, Training
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
