IT Project Manager, Systems Analyst
At Sunlighten, we’re on a mission to improve lives through innovative health and wellness solutions. We are seeking an orchestrative, grounded, and discerning IT Project Manager to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art headquarters in Leawood, KS. Based in the Kansas City metro area, we offer the growth of a global company with the close-knit culture of a local business.
Sunlighten’s IT Project Manager will be responsible for executing and delivering multiple, concurrent technology and business systems projects in alignment with organizational strategy. This role works in close partnership with the Program Manager and IT Leadership, who provide strategic direction, prioritization and portfolio oversight. While the Program Manager and IT Leadership set vision and priorities, the IT Project Manager owns tactical execution, delivery discipline, and accountability, ensuring projects move forward, commitments are met, and outcomes are achieved.
This role will leverage Jira as the system of record and acts as the operations drive across IT, BI, and Internal Business System Initiatives.
- Execute multiple, complex projects concurrently under the direction of IT Leadership and Program Manager
- Own day-to-day project delivery, including schedules, tasks, risks, dependencies, and outcomes
- Maintain sufficient technical understanding to assess feasibility, dependencies, and risk, while not owning hands-on configuration, development, or architectural decisions
- Set and manage delivery expectations based on validated estimates and capacity; avoid over committing timelines or scope without alignment from technical leads and IT Leadership
- Proactively communicate project status, risks, tradeoffs, and options to stakeholders in clear, non-technical terms
- Recommend delivery options and tradeoffs to Program Manager and IT Leadership; escalate decisions requiring priority, scope, or funding changes
- Ensure project execution aligns with strategic initiatives and portfolio priorities
- Use Jira as the primary execution and tracking tool, managing epics, stories, tasks, dependencies, milestones, roadmaps, backlogs, sprint plans, and reporting
- Document and manage end-to-end process flows for systems, integrations, and workflows
- Enforce consistent delivery standards and best practices
- Lead execution of projects involving internal business systems (Salesforce, Net Suite, Five9 and other core applications), IT applications, infrastructure, and integrations, plus BI and reporting initiatives
- Coordinate cross-team and vendor efforts to ensure successful implementation and adoption
- Track and mitigate risks, blockers, and dependencies; manage scope changes and ensure alignment with Program Manager and IT Leadership
- Provide accurate, timely project reporting to Program Manager, IT Leadership, CTO & ELT
- Provide productivity and velocity KPIs
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish and manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and prioritization frameworks
- 3+ years of Project Management experience, including IT projects and cross-functional technical projects from initiation through delivery
- Strong Jira expertise (execution, workflows, dashboards, and reporting)
- Experience working with a program manager or in portfolio-managed environments
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives
- Experience with prioritization methods and backlog grooming
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive accountability without formal authority
- Collaborative and innovative environment with opportunities for career growth
- Competitive PTO policy, paid holidays, and floating holidays
- Fully equipped on-site fitness center
- Lunch program with a James-Beard Award-winning Chef
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company contributions and profit sharing
- Life and short-term disability insurance
- Professional development and tuition reimbursement
- Associate discounts on saunas, spa products, and day spa services
