AI Engineer, Machine Learning/ ML Engineer
Since 1996, epay, a business segment of Euronet, has been at the center of connecting local and global brands to consumers. Our capabilities, platforms, products, and solutions cater to the changing consumer demand for content and payments in categories such as mobile, gaming, and entertainment.
We are looking for a pure technical builder-someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to get their hands in the latest AI technology. We’re seeking an AI Engineer with a deep, practical understanding of modern AI. You will be writing code, experimenting with new models, and building production-grade AI agents. This is a hybrid role located in Leawood, KS.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Build & Deploy: Architect and code end-to-end AI applications. You will move beyond simple API calls to build robust systems using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), vector databases, and agentic workflows.
- Engineer AI Agents: Develop autonomous agents capable of complex reasoning, tool use, and decision-making to automate varied business workflows.
- Optimize & Fine-Tune: Experiment with prompt engineering strategies, context window management, and model fine-tuning to maximize performance and accuracy.
- Bridge the Gap: Translate "raw AI" capabilities into reliable software features. You will work with APIs (Flask/FastAPI), databases, and backend logic to integrate AI models into real-world products.
- Foster Expertise: Act as a technical beacon for AI within the company. While this is not a management role, you will help upskill the engineering team by demonstrating best practices and sharing knowledge on the latest AI advancements.
- Concrete
Experience:
Experience building production AI applications. - Complexity Management: Demonstrated ability to manage high levels of complexity.
- Strong Code: Proficiency in Python and AI frameworks. You should be comfortable writing production-ready code, managing dependencies, building REST APIs (Flask/FastAPI), etc.
- LLM Native: Hands‑on experience with the modern AI stack. You should know your way around tools like Lang Chain and the OpenAI/Anthropic APIs
. - Applied AI
Skills:
You possess a full‑spectrum understanding of AI. While versed in LLM architectures (RAG, Agents, Vector Search), you would also be comfortable with feature engineering and building classic machine learning models (regression, classification, clustering) for structured data. You know how LLMs are trained and may have trained or fine‑tuned a language model yourself.
- Proficiency with git, docker, experience with cloud compute.
- Background in traditional software engineering is a bonus.
- Local Presence:
You must be willing to commute to our Leawood, KS office.
