Official, Youth Basketball (Part‑time)

We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Youth Recreational Basketball Officials to officiate games for our youth basketball program. Officials play a key role in creating a fun, safe, and positive environment while ensuring games are officiated fairly and consistently.

• Part‑time, Saturdays from January 10 – February 22, 9 am‑6 pm
• Games are at John Diemer Elementary School, 96th and Lamar

• Officiate youth basketball games in accordance with league rules
• Promote sportsmanship and positive behavior among players, coaches, and spectators
• Ensure the safety of all participants
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with players, coaches, and fellow officials
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled games
• Maintain control of the game in a calm and professional manner

• Free individual membership to The J
• $20–$25 per game (8–10 games every Saturday)

• Basic knowledge of basketball rules and gameplay
• Prior officiating experience preferred but not required (training provided)
• Strong communication skills and sound judgment
• Dependable and punctual
• Comfortable working with youth athletes
• Must be 16 years of age or older

• Constant talking and hearing to communicate with players and officials
• Frequent standing, walking, and eye/hand/foot coordination, plus exposure to a generally loud gymnasium environment
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling of up to 25 lb, stooping/crouching, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders throughout the building and on the court, and repetitive motions to demonstrate and execute skills
