Coach, Pre-K Basketball

Overview

Join us as a Coach, Pre‑K Basketball at Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City
. Our Pre‑K (Jump Start) program focuses on fun, safety, and sportsmanship, creating a positive environment for 4‑to‑5‑year‑olds. Experience coaching, playing, or refereeing is preferred but not mandatory.

We need reliable part‑time staff for our Winter Jump Start Basketball season, running from January 4th to February 15th
. Practices and games are held every Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

• Coach basketball practices and games for ages 4‑5
• Teach basic basketball skills using age‑appropriate equipment and progressions
• Supervise children ages 4‑5
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth session flow

• Free Individual Membership to The J
• $18 per session (3‑5 sessions every Sunday)

• Experience working with young children (ages 3‑6) preferred
• Experience as a coach/referee/player preferred
• Knowledge of basketball and its rules
• Able to create an engaging and energetic environment
• Able to work flexible Sundays from 12:00 pm‑5:00 pm
• Must have reliable transportation

• Constant talking and hearing to communicate with players and officials
• Frequent standing, walking, and coordination in a generally loud gymnasium environment
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of 25 lbs, stooping/crouching, sitting, climbing stairs/ladders, and repetitive motions on the court and building
