Safety Coordinator

Overview

F.A. Wilhelm Construction is seeking a Safety Coordinator to manage and enforce Wilhelm's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazards to prevent injury and/or property damage. The Safety Coordinator shall ensure safety of all persons and property on the job site, aiming for an accident/incident free project.

• Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings and document content and attendance.
• Conduct safety orientation for new employees.
• Advise project staff on site-specific safety issues and guidelines.
• Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
• Enforce safe work practices and conditions in accordance with all state, federal, local regulations (including OSHA), Wilhelm policies, and owner/contractual requirements.
• Conduct daily and/or weekly job site inspections as appropriate or specified by the project.
• Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
• Investigate, corroborate, document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
• Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.

• Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards
• OSHA 30 Certification
• 3+ years safety experience in construction or a related industry
• Must have 3+ years in Industrial, Cast-In-Place, and Commercial construction (REQUIRED)
• Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows
