American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

• ICU/CCU and Progressive Care unit setting caring for critically ill patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours )
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required, generally 3 of the 6 major holidays
• Floating to like units required based on facility census and staffing needs
• No call requirements
• Charting system is Meditech

• Active RN license (IN or compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (PALS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience caring for patients requiring pressors, sedation, thrombolytic therapy, electrolyte replacement, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator/BiPAP support
• Experience with bedside procedures such as chest tube placement, intubation, line placement, cardioversions, lumbar punctures, and thoracentesis
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience managing ventilated patients and BiPAP/CPAP
• Experience with central line and PICC line care/management
• Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU and progressive care patients, including bedside procedures that may require conscious sedation
• Responsibilities include care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, acute renal failure, and acute stroke management
• Scrubs of any color accepted, professional appearance required
• No parking costs
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted, with any holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of the three major holidays
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the hospital are considered local
