Overview
The Physician is responsible for supervising nagyon and providing necessary and desirable medical care within the Physician's specialty to Dartmouth-H.activus Dartmouth Health patients, consistent with the policies and procedures of DHC, the facility at which care is rendered, and the directions of the Service Line Leader or his/her designee. If the Physician's specialty requires call coverage, the Physician will rotate call coverage with other physicians and allied health professionals in the specialty so that each provider, including the Physician, has comparable on‑call time during nights, weekends, and holidays.
While on call, the physician shall remain in close proximity as directed by the department chair or designee. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Physician will spend sufficient and reasonable time on administrative and record‑keeping matters pertaining to the medical practice.
- Provide clinical and related administrative services and actively participate in and contribute to DHC's academic endeavors.
- Abide by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
- Review records and detailed medical history from patient(s).
- Determine appropriate diagnosis (diagnoses) and treatment plan(s).
- Determine and order appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies.
- Obtain informed consent for treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures and studies.
- Interpret and evaluate test and study results.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical devices within specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations.
- Initiate referrals to other providers as necessary.
- Initiate admission/discharge of patients, if applicable.
- Provide consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Encourage behavioral change and assist with self‑management skills to improve overall health within specialty scope of practice.
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
- Provide patient and family‑centered care.
- Ensure the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
- Supervise APP's as directed.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME).
- Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
- Participate in academic responsibilities assigned by the Department Chair or designee, including, but not limited to: leading small group resident conferences, training of residents, teaching medical and other health professional students, participating in clinical trials or other sponsored research, and any other Geisel obligations (if any).

- Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO).
- Post‑graduate training in a residency program.
Licensure/Certification s
- Current New Hampshire Medical License.
- Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years).
