Bond Optics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Polishing Technician I to support the fabrication of custom glass optics. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to break into precision manufacturing, with full training provided by industry veterans. You'll assist with fine grinding and polishing processes, measurement, and machine maintenance all within a fast paced, high-tech environment.
- Assist with the preparation and handling of delicate optical components
- Execute fine grinding and polishing operations using various equipment and hand tools to achieve precise angles, bevels, and surface finishes
- Conduct in-process surface inspections, dimensional measurements, and final interferometry documentation
- Follow documented procedures to ensure part quality and consistency while inspecting for cosmetic defects and dimensional nonconformance
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation for safety and precision
- Participate in training to grow your skills and support career advancement
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
- Comfort working with your hands and handling precision equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or hands-on experience in manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic understanding of optical principles or manufacturing processes is helpful but not required.
- Ability to lift and handle components weighing 15–50 lbs frequently.
- Manual dexterity for handling fragile optics and performing fine motor tasks.
- Adequate vision (corrected if needed) for detailed inspection work.
