Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU role requiring recent trauma ICU experience and both BLS and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities- Position is in a 10-bed Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) at a Primary Stroke Center
- Care for patients with stroke (ischemic, hemorrhagic), neurosurgical procedures, and complex neuro-medical conditions
- Will float to a Surgical ICU (18 beds) and other critical care units as needed
- Patient population includes post-surgical, trauma, neuro, plastics, multiple organ failure, and sepsis cases
- Responsibilities include advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and caring for patients with ventriculostomies, lumbar drains, and EVDs
- Uses advanced monitoring equipment and manages various lines, tubes, and drains
- Applicants must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Responsible for critical care of complex neuro, surgical, and trauma patient populations
- Must be able to float between intensive care units as required
- Active NH or Compact RN license required and must remain valid for the duration of the assignment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must have recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma ICU experience within the past 2 years
- Proficiency with advanced hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, ventilator management, pressors, inotropes, vasoactive medications, and PA lines and waveform interpretation required
