Overview
Our Level 1 Emergency Department is expanding to meet the needs of our rural New England region’s acutely ill patients requiring technical specialized procedures available only at our facility. The DH Emergency Department is slated to open a new 4 bed landing zone in November 2024. We are recruiting nurses with Critical Care, step down or Emergency nursing experience to join our team for this exciting new unit as we expand our ability to care for the patients in our region.
As an RN on this unit, you will be caring for critical patients in urgent need for specific procedures such as; cardiac catheterization, invasive neurological procedures, external ventricular drains, intercranial pressure monitoring or patients awaiting a surgical procedure pending OR suite availability.
The successful candidate should possess ACLS & PALS certifications or have the dedication to obtain within 6 months of hire and be interested in working with a dynamic team dedicated to providing specialized patient care. The unit requires flexibility and high level of engagement to thrive. The ED nursing leadership team will provide orientation and training to allow the landing zone nurses to cross train to the emergency department and/or job share with other DH nursing units.
This is a FT 3x12hr ROTATING shift position. The shifts are rotating 7p-7a and 7p-7a across all 7 days and holidays.
ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization and is responsible for autonomous practice directed by the professional tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist and transferor. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and to continuously monitor and evaluate practice to ensure safe passage of patients that is in the best interest of populations served.
Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
RequiredLicensure/Certification s
- Licensed Registered Nurse with New Hampshire eligibility.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required upon hire
