The Food Service Attendant - Nutrition Services, Evening is a full-time position at Dartmouth Health. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and will assemble, serve, deliver patient meals, maintain sanitation standards, and operate dish‑washing equipment.

$17.00/hr – $26.35/hr

Currently offering a $3,000 sign‑on bonus for external hires.

Shift: Evening

• Patient Tray Assembly and Sanitation:
  • Plate food items and assemble patient meal trays, including add‑on sheet items and tube feeds following proper procedures.
  • Prepare food items for all areas following standardized recipes and production methods.
  • Ensure area and equipment meet accepted standards of quality.
  • Load and operate dish washing equipment, check machine temperatures daily, and monitor sanitizer pH levels.
  • Operate floor washing machine.
  • Maintain and properly stock all necessary food and supply items, labeling and dating them as required.
  • Use and mix chemicals safely, labeling secondary bottles.
• Patient Tray Delivery and Menu Collection:
  • Assist with tray delivery and retrieval.
  • Collect patient menus on assigned units, assist patients in menu completion using hard‑copy menus or laptops.
  • Perform inventory of food and supplies for assigned units, assemble and deliver supplies.
  • Take temperatures of assigned refrigerators and freezers and document as required.
• Retail Dining Areas:
  • Perform procedures in retail areas according to state and hospital guidelines, including serving, portioning, and preparing items to order.
  • Take refrigeration, hot and cold food temperatures to ensure proper storage and serving temperatures.
  • Clean assigned areas and equipment following institutional standards.
  • Order, collect, and restock food supplies in assigned areas.
  • Display and label food items using menu boards and POS signage.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

• High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and write required.
• Prior satisfactory work experience desired.

FTE / Hours per pay period: 1.00 – 1.00 (40 hours/week)
