We have an immediate opening to hire an EHS Specialist for our Lebanon, Ohio facility. Reporting into the site’s EHS organization, this position will be responsible for aligning environmental compliance processes with business goals and engaging employees to promote behaviors that achieve the highest levels of productivity in the safest possible manner while meeting all regulatory requirements. The role includes coordinating inspections, record keeping, and reporting required to comply with site permits and regulatory requirements, interacting with and representing the company with outside agencies, and interpreting current and emerging environmental, safety, and health regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with plant leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the interpretation of federal, state, and local environmental compliance regulations.
  • Align corporate and local EHS goals and strategies.
  • Participate in or lead EHS audits and inspections, developing remediation plans as needed.
  • Lead or assist in environmental compliance, including water (waste, storm), solid waste (hazardous and non‑hazardous), and air (internal respiratory and external emissions).
  • Maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations.
  • Lead or participate in employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance.
  • Provide technical assistance to management and engineering staff regarding compliance requirements for EPA, DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies for new processes.
  • Prepare and submit environmental, health, and safety regulatory and company‑required reports.
  • Assist with job safety analyses, risk assessments, training, incident investigations, inspections, data collection/analysis, program/procedure writing, and internal audits.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of industrial control mechanisms.
  • Liaise with ESG and Maintenance representatives around environmental reporting and utility tracking.
  • Serve as environmental lead on Maintenance and Engineering projects (capital and continuous improvement) to ensure all environment‑relevant aspects are addressed during design, estimating, and execution.
  • Participate in relevant education and training based on corporate and local environmental objectives; adhere to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Assist with preparing metrics pertinent to EHS activities.
  • Handle special tasks and projects as requested to meet company objectives.
Education and Experience
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employer sponsorship is not available.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • One (1) or more years in manufacturing facilities with substantial experience in environmental compliance programs (air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste).
  • Strong current knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge or success executing compliance programs involving Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulations.
Additional Preferred Competencies
  • Three (3) or more years of environmental program experience in manufacturing or other industrial settings.
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Health or Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
